Vintage Family Tree Video Archival or Straight Transfer Program

For Film:
Step one in the process of film transfer is to locate your films and identify which reels you want to have transferred. Then, number them 1 through however many in the order you want them transferred. A dvd has the capacity to hold up to 2:15:00 of running time.
A Telecine is used in the transferring process which synchronizes the running rate of film correctly to eliminate flicker and flutter. As part of the transfer process, the film is cleaned and digitally enhanced to brighten or darken underexposed or overexposed film footage. As long as there is some original image on the film, some enhancement can take place and increase the quality of the viewing. Nothing can be done to correct blurry footage or footage that is extremely under or over exposed however.
Indicate what title you want printed on the dvd and how many dvd's you need. No additional music soundtrack is included in the Archival Program unless the original film has audio in it. No captions other than a title printed on the disc are included in this program as well.
Note: If you have the capability to edit your film footage after it's transferred, Vintage Family Tree Video will provide you your film footage in the Reference AVI file format so that you can edit yourself. If you supply your own empty external hard drive, we can download the AVI files onto your drive. If you want VFTV to purchase a new external drive for your material, the cost of the new drive is added to your order total. If it makes more sense to have the AVI files loaded onto separate discs which carry a maximum of 18 minutes of running time, there is an additional charge for the discs over and above the transfer charge.
Please refer to the Pricing Section for specific pricing on this program.

For Videos:
A straight transfer of video to DVD is simply a one tape per DVD up to a total of 2:15:00 of running time capacity regardless of the actual running time of the tape. Frequently, in the VHS and Hi-C format, original taping was done in extended play mode which means that there can be more than 2 hours of running time per tape. This would result in additional DVD's needed to complete the order. No editing is done, it's simply whatever material is on the tape will be transferred onto the DVD. If you want editing performed, please refer to the Custom Edited Program. Please refer to the Pricing Section for specific pricing on this program.

For Photos/Slides:
A straight transfer of photos and/or slides entails numbering the photos and/or slides in the order you want them transferred. Remember when numbering photos, never use a magic marker because it frequently bleeds through the photo. No music soundtrack or captions are included in this program. Indicate what title you want to be printed on the DVD and/or the CD. A basic fade transition will be used to transition from one picture to the next. They are on the screen for about 10 seconds. Each individual photo or slide will be a separate jpeg file grouped together on a CD that you can load onto your computer for storage or future editing/printing/sending. Please refer to the Pricing Section for specific pricing on this program

For Reel to Reel Audio Tapes Only:
Reel to Reel audio tapes can only be straight transferred in their entirety. Indicate what title you want on the CD. Please refer to the Pricing Section for specific pricing on this program.
